a bit about me...
Ignore the Italian sounding name and the Italian looking face. I’m a born and bred Londoner with some vaguely Italian heritage and a penchant for all things Italy.
A little while ago I decided to leave London to eat my way around Italy, region by region. I decided to write an honest guide to all things Italians and to dispel some common misconceptions about this bonkers boot shaped country.
I write insider guides to Italian places you may or may not have heard of, histories and guides on local dishes and regional cuisine, and tidbits on Italian culture which should give you a little more insight into the country. There’s also a bit of self indulgent stuff thrown in there too; a few commentaries on events which should probably be forgotten but make me laugh a bit (buried in the Daily Struggles section).
DO YOU LOVE ITALY?
HAVE YOU NEVER GIVEN IT MUCH THOUGHT BECAUSE YOU KNOW WHAT PIZZA TASTES LIKE AND YOU FIGURE YOU’LL JUST VISIT ONCE YOU’VE FOUND YOURSELF A SIGNIFICANT OTHER?
ARE YOU JUST HUNGRY AND LIKE NICE PICTURES OF NICE PLACES?
Hurrah! Welcome! I created this space for people just like you.
Living in Italian is about discovering ‘authentic’ Italy - the good and the bad stuff.
So, maybe you’re borderline obsessed with Italy and planning on buying a Masseria in Puglia. Maybe you’ve never considered visiting Italy because the only people who seem to visit are (a) young amorous couples or (b) old people. Maybe you just want to introduce a little Italy into your life and you want to know where Tagliatelle comes from and how to make it yourself.
Hopefully this will help.
