Actually, it’s not just a bar. Its a bar/cafe/geletaria/chocolateria. It’s everything you could possibly ask for rolled into one pretty parcel.
Brindisi might not be on most (sane) people’s bucket list. But should you find yourself in this Southern port, I implore you to get out of that archaeological museum the tourist office sent you to, and to spend an afternoon here.
For everyone else, who has no intention of ever visiting Brindisi, think of this as an education on what every bar should be.
UK take note.
The perfect pit-stop for a Caffe in Ghiaccio (or Caffe Leccese). Espresso served with ice. A popular drink in Puglia, likely because it is about as hot as a furnace here.
Or pick up an exceptionally pretty parcel of jellied sweets, macarons and chocolate truffles.
If you're headed here for breakfast time, try one of their 'pasticciotto'. These small pastries are renowned in Puglia and the ones here are particularly delicious. Learn more about Pasticciotto over here.
But if it's any time after midday, order yourself a strong cocktail and pay the extra €3 for the 'nibbles'.
